sl360
sl360 Tools™
Discover all of the free network monitoring tools included in sl360 that provide scanning, diagnostic, monitoring and other network management functionality.
-
Cisco Configurator
This tool eases configuration and change management of Cisco® devices in lieu of one-off non-integrated point tools.
- Download device configuration files from a Cisco® devices
- Archive Cisco® router startup and running network configurations
- Upload configuration changes to routers or switches via SNMP or Telnet/SSH
- Compare the running config of a Cisco® router with the startup config or archive config
- Go to and find any section within the config file quickly
- Decrypt any Cisco® type-7 passwords for routers and switches for lost password recovery
-
DNS Audit
Supplies a match for each IP address in a specified range of IP addresses to its domain name, and then checks back from the domain name to the IP Address to see if the resolution is the same forward and in reverse. DNS Audit also displays NetBIOS Host Name, Host, and LMHost for complete visibility.
-
Encrypted Credential Store
Consolidate Windows, SSH, FTP and SNMP credentials in a single location for quick and simple diagnostics. The Credential Store utilizes 256-bit AES Encryption and provides password key access for additional protection.
- Add, modify, and delete the shared credential database.
- Define device groups so a single password (sign on) can be used to authenticate across the group.
- Share credentials across device groups safely and automatically.
-
Enhanced Ping
Continuously ping a device and log running response times to help diagnose packet loss. Data can be exported on demand to HTML, XML and CSV files. This tool can quickly identify if a device has performance issues and allows network engineers to review information like status, average ping response time and packet loss in a single interface.
-
Graphical Ping
A powerful and versatile graphing tool that shows the response time of a device. See data in different views (spline chart, bar chart, and area chart) and modify ICMP parameters as needed. Collected data can be exported for further analysis. Data can be viewed on intervals from 1 minute to 1 hour.
MAC Scan
Sweep the immediate subnet of the tool’s host and provide a table of MAC Address, Manufacturer Name and Address, and DNS, for each IP Address. Loaded on a laptop, MAC Scan can be moved from subnet to subnet to discover and build tables for all subnets in a network. Data can be exported into clear reports.
-
Network Discovery
Perform a lightning-quick scan of the entire network to discover all devices. Leveraging SNMP, the tool provides a complete set of attributes for each device that has been discovered and the results are displayed in the same sl360 dashboard.
- Gather all technical data including hardware, software, and processes for each device.
- Identify devices by responding, status, protocols, type, and operating system
- Scan a single device, a subnet, or a range of subnets
- Interact with the Encrypted Credential Store for user access to devices.
-
Network Inventory
Perform a lightning-quick scan of the entire network to discover all devices. Leveraging SNMP, the tool provides a complete set of attributes for each device that has been discovered and the results are displayed in the same sl360 dashboard.
- Gather all technical data including hardware, software, and processes for each device.
- Identify devices by responding, status, protocols, type, and operating system
- Scan a single device, a subnet, or a range of subnets
- Interact with the Encrypted Credential Store for user access to devices.
-
Ping Scan
Sends ICMP ECHO requests across a range of IP addresses and builds a spreadsheet of the results. The clean visual display of IP addresses can be filtered by which are in use and which are not responding. DNS information is also provided for each responding address.
-
Port Scan
Test for open TCP ports on devices and present color-coded results for simple analysis. The most common port names are conveniently preloaded, but custom service names can be added easily. Fast and easy to configure, Port Scan can be customized for any view. Port scans can be scaled to match particular machine abilities, characteristics and firewall policies. Multiple export formats make for optimal presentation of the data in differing circumstances and situations.
-
SNMP Scan
Discover detailed information for a device: System Name, Description, Location, Object ID, Up Time, and SNMP Status. Results can be filtered by responding nodes and exported to .CSV and HTML.
-
Switch Port Mapper
This tool assists network engineers in discovering the devices connected to each port on a switch, thus eliminating the need to manually trace network cables. The tool provides device visibility like IP address, MAC address, VLAN, port name and availability, as well as the capability to enable or disable an interface. Since this is a real-time discovery, the network engineer can also view the operational status and speed of each port. The Switch Port Mapper results can easily be exported to CSV, XML, and HTML.
- Discover all devices connected to each port on a switch by MAC address, IP address, and host name
- Provides additional details like Transmit Rate, Received Rate, and CRC Errors
- Enable or disable an specific network interface
- Export tool results to CSV, XML, and HTML
Syslog Server
This tool receives, logs and displays syslog messages from hosts such as routers, switches, and any other syslog enabled devices.
- Real-time display of syslog messages with date/time, host name, priority, and message
- Archive messages for quick future reference
- Filter messages by Facility, Severity, date/time, host name, and key words
- Forward messages to another syslog server
- Export messages to HTML, .csv, and XML
TFTP Server
A multi-threaded, highly scalable tool. It supports unlimited simultaneous transfers and is integrated into the Cisco Configuration Tools. TFTP is often used for updating software on network devices. The TFTP server is an extremely fast and secure utility that makes a network engineer’s job easier and works seamlessly with sl360 Cisco Configuration Tools.
Trace Route
Find the route from an IP address to any other address and display the response time and packet lost associated with each hop to the destination. Trace Route assembles a real-time display of resolved DNS, response times, packet loss and the number of success / failures. This helps to identify where a failure is occurring from hop to hop.
Traffic Jam
This tool is a random traffic generator for the WAN (Wide Area Network). Packet size, circuit bandwidth, and load percentage are variable and customizable. Traffic Jam bombards WAN pipes and links with specified loads of random packets to measure network performance under known load conditions. It can be used to simulate the latency issues, jitter, high loss and drop rates experienced under peak usage conditions for critical applications and thus allows for solving small problems before they grow into large costly problems. The Traffic Jam tool can stress test pipes and end-points to understand how the network reacts. It helps to verify the need to upgrade specific choke points in the network.
Wake on LAN
This utility will boot any networked machine with previously enabled capability in the BIOS by means of a command from a remote location. Because an enabled network interface card is still receiving power, even on a shut down device, it keeps listening for the unique command created for its MAC address. Upon reception, the network adapter alerts the computer to power on just as if the power button had been pressed. (Occasionally it will be necessary to reserve power for the card.) Wake on LAN is for those who have the task of updating the many far flung machines of a large organization, for those who have left a digital asset on a shut-down PC somewhere else, or for those who just need a little help making their network tasks easier.
WHOIS
Quickly access multiple public domain records databases and perform a search by IP address or domain name. The tool then creates a detailed report on domain names, URLs, IP addresses, network addresses and e-mail addresses. The WHOIS report can be exported to HTML, XML or CSV files.
WMI Scan
The WMI Scan tool provides key information on the system and WMI status for devices on the network. This tool provides system name and details about the operating system. The results can be quickly and easily exported on demand from WMI Scan to HTML, XML and CSV files.
